Two Lake Dallas High School seniors are continuing their athletic careers at the college level. To recognize their accomplishments, LDHS held a signing day celebration for the athletes. Seniors Emmalee Williamson and Cortney Arnold signed letters of intent with their parents, teachers, friends, teammates, and Lady Falcon head basketball coach Jonathan Lee there in support.
Emmalee Williamson, daughter of John and Sharon Williamson, signed with Collin County Community College in Plano, Texas. The 3-year letterman has many accomplishments on the court including 2017 Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All District, 2016 Offensive Player of the Year and 1st Team All District, and 2015 Most Improved Player of the Year and Academic All District. Emmalee plans to pursue a career in Medicine.
“I chose Collin County because it is close to home and I just loved the environment on the campus,” Emmalee said.
Coach Lee said that Emmalee is “an incredible athlete and a rebounding machine. She could play multiple positions on the floor and helped lead our team in many ways. She will be a great player for Collin College.”
Cortney Arnold, daughter of Duane and Kristi Arnold Hymes and Derek Arnold, signed with LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas. Brought up to Varsity as a freshman, Arnold is a 4-year letterman that has received Academic All District awards for 3 of those years. Cortney plans to major in Kinesiology.
She chose LeTourneau University “because of the relationship that was built with the coach during the recruiting process.”
“Cortney Arnold did a tremendous job leading her team on the court as our point guard,” Coach Lee said. “She improved her game every year and is a very intelligent basketball player. I look forward to seeing her success continue at LeTourneau University.”
